London’s property market is unlike anywhere else in the UK. Whether you’ve just bought a Victorian terrace in Hackney, a 1930s semi in Bromley, or a new-build flat in Stratford, the one thing most London homeowners have in common is that they’ve spent a fortune on the property itself — and they’re looking for smart ways to renovate without blowing what’s left of the budget.
That’s where we come in. I’m Steve, the owner of SJB Trade Kitchens, and we supply rigid-built, made-to-order kitchen cabinets and doors direct to addresses across London. We’re based in Oldham, Greater Manchester, but we deliver nationwide — and London is one of our busiest delivery areas. The concept is simple: we design and build your kitchen, deliver it to your door, and you arrange your own fitter to install it. That’s the “DIY” part. You’re in control of the project, you pick your own tradespeople, and you save a serious amount of money in the process.
Most of our London customers tell us they’re saving 30–50% compared to Howdens for a better product. We don’t mess around with thin hardboard — every carcass is constructed from 18mm Egger or Kronospan board, including the backs, and fitted with premium Blum soft-close hinges before it leaves our workshop. Our gloss doors are MDF with an acrylic coating or lacquered finish, not vinyl wraps. Our Painted Shaker doors are solid wood. No corners cut.
