I started SJB Trade Kitchens because I got fed up watching builders, developers and homeowners get stung by the big suppliers. Howdens, Wren, B&Q — they all charge a premium for what is, fundamentally, a box with a door on it. We do the same thing, built to the same standard or better, and we do it for 30 to 50% less.

Every kitchen we supply is made to order. That means you get the exact sizes you need — no awkward gaps, no compromises. We build in 18mm Egger or Kronospan carcasses with 18mm backs, fully rigid construction, and Blum soft-close hinges and runners throughout. These aren’t flat-pack units that wobble when you push the door. They’re built properly, the way kitchens should be.

We deliver nationwide. Whether you’re fitting out a single kitchen in Cornwall or a development of 20 units in Edinburgh, we can supply. Lead time is 10 working days from order confirmation. If you need something faster, call us — we’ll see what we can do.

The Six Kitchen Styles We Supply

We carry six door ranges covering everything from traditional painted shaker to contemporary handleless. Here’s a quick summary of each — click through to the individual pages for the full door range and colour options.

Painted Shaker

Our most popular range. Painted shaker doors in solid colours — from classic white and cream through to deep navy, forest green and charcoal. Available in over 12 door profiles including Mornington Beaded, Fitzroy, Crathorne and more. MDF or timber frame construction depending on the door. If you want a traditional kitchen that still looks sharp, this is the range to look at.

Shaker Foil

The same shaker profile as the painted range but finished in a durable foil wrap. More resistant to moisture and knocks than a painted finish, which makes it a sensible choice for rental properties, student accommodation or anywhere that takes a bit of punishment. Available in a wide range of colours and wood-effect finishes.

Handleless Matt

Clean lines, no visible handles, matt finish. The handleless style has been the dominant trend in new-build kitchens for the past decade and it’s not going anywhere. We supply handleless matt doors in a full range of colours — from white and light grey through to darker tones. Works particularly well in open-plan spaces where you want the kitchen to sit quietly in the background.

Handleless Gloss

Same handleless profile as the matt range but with a high-gloss acrylic or lacquered finish. Reflects light well, which makes smaller kitchens feel bigger. The finish is harder than a painted door and easier to wipe clean. Available in white, cream, light grey and a selection of bolder colours. Not for everyone, but when it works, it looks genuinely impressive.

Slab Matt

A flat, handle-free slab door in a matt finish. The most minimal option in the range — no profile, no detail, just a clean flat face. Popular with architects and designers who want the kitchen to disappear into the room. Available in a range of colours. Pairs well with statement worktops and open shelving.

Slab Gloss

The same flat slab profile in a high-gloss finish. Acrylic or lacquered MDF — not vinyl, not laminate. The gloss finish adds depth and reflects light in a way that matt simply can’t. If you want a kitchen that makes a statement without relying on colour, slab gloss is worth a look. Available in white, grey, cream and a small selection of bolder tones.
