Birmingham has been on a serious upward trajectory for years. With the HS2 development, the Commonwealth Games legacy, and a property market that’s been outperforming most of the UK, more and more homeowners in the West Midlands are investing in their homes. And one of the best returns you’ll get on any renovation is a properly built kitchen.
I’m Steve, the owner of SJB Trade Kitchens. We’re based in Oldham, just up the M6, and we supply rigid-built, made-to-order kitchen cabinets and doors direct to addresses across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands. We don’t fit kitchens — we’re supply only. You arrange your own fitter or fit it yourself. That’s the “DIY” part, and it’s how our customers typically save 30–50% compared to Howdens for a genuinely better product.
Our cabinets are built to last. We use 18mm board throughout — backs included — and finish every unit with Blum soft-close mechanisms as standard. Our gloss doors are MDF with an acrylic coating or lacquered finish, not vinyl wraps that peel after a few years. Our Painted Shaker doors are solid wood. No cheap shortcuts, no corners cut.
