I’m Steve, and I supply rigid-built, made-to-order kitchen units to homes across Bristol and the South West from my small showroom in Oldham. Bristol might be a few hours away, but I deliver nationwide — and the quality of what I supply is the same wherever you are in the country.

Bristol is a city with real character, and its housing stock reflects that. Georgian townhouses in Clifton and Cotham, Victorian terraces in Redland, Bishopston, and Bedminster, converted warehouses on the Harbourside, 1930s semis in Horfield and Filton, and new-build estates in Bradley Stoke and Emersons Green. Every one of those property types has different kitchen requirements — and every one of them deserves better than flat-pack chipboard.

Every unit I supply uses 18mm Egger or Kronospan carcasses with solid 18mm backs and Blum soft-close hardware as standard. Typically 30–50% cheaper than Howdens — and built to a significantly higher standard. No trade card needed, no builder’s markup.

Why Bristol Homeowners Choose SJB for Kitchen Units

Bristol buyers know quality when they see it. The city has a strong independent, quality-conscious consumer culture — people here do their research and they’re not easily fooled by marketing. When you look at what SJB supplies compared to what you’d get from Howdens or Wren, the difference is obvious. 18mm solid backs versus 3mm hardboard. Rigid-built versus flat-pack. Blum hardware versus own-brand.

Period properties need made-to-measure. Bristol’s Georgian and Victorian housing stock is stunning, but it’s rarely perfectly square. Walls aren’t straight, floors aren’t level, and standard units leave gaps that look terrible. Made-to-order means your units fit properly, whatever the quirks of your property.

Transparent pricing, no games. I don’t operate a confusing trade-discount model. You get a clear, itemised quote from day one. No builder’s markup, no inflated RRP, no surprise extras.

You deal directly with me. When you call SJB, you speak to me, Steve. No call centre, no sales team on commission. Just honest advice from someone who knows kitchens inside out.

Bristol Property Types — Kitchen Units That Fit

Georgian townhouses (Clifton, Cotham, Kingsdown, Redcliffe) — High ceilings mean you can go taller with wall units and really maximise storage. I can supply tall wall cabinets and larder units to make the most of these beautiful properties.

Victorian terraces (Redland, Bishopston, Montpelier, St Andrews, St Werburghs) — Typically narrow kitchens with some awkward angles. Made-to-order units mean a seamless fit from wall to wall.

Bedminster and Southville terraces — South Bristol’s terraced streets have their own character. Compact kitchens that benefit enormously from properly fitted, rigid-built units.

Converted warehouses and Harbourside apartments — Open-plan living with the kitchen as a focal point. My handleless and slab ranges look genuinely high-end in these spaces.

1930s semis (Horfield, Filton, Westbury-on-Trym, Henleaze) — Bristol has a good amount of 1930s semi-detached housing. These kitchens are often a good size and are ideal for a full rigid-built kitchen refit.

New-build estates (Bradley Stoke, Emersons Green, Kingswood, Fishponds) — Developer kitchens are often the first thing buyers replace. Rigid-built units are a significant upgrade that adds real value.

Kitchen Unit Styles for Bristol Homes

Bristol’s housing stock is full of character, and the kitchen style needs to match. The classic shaker doors are the natural choice for Georgian townhouses in Clifton or Victorian terraces in Redland, while the handleless matt ranges look brilliant in modern Harbourside apartments. Ordering Kitchen Units for Bristol

Here’s how it works.

Get in touch. Call me on 0161 509 4221 or use the form below. Tell me about your property — the kitchen dimensions, the layout, and what you’re after. Bristol’s Georgian and Victorian housing stock often has quirks that are worth discussing upfront, so I can make sure the quote is accurate.

Free design and itemised quote. Send me your room measurements and I’ll put together a full kitchen plan with a clear, itemised quote. Every unit, every panel, every accessory listed with a straight price. No builder’s markup, no inflated RRP.

Nationwide delivery to Bristol and the South West. I supply nationwide and regularly deliver to Bristol and the surrounding area. Your units are made to your exact specifications and delivered direct to your door, typically within 10–12 working days. Units arrive fully assembled and ready for your fitter to install.

Visiting the showroom. The showroom is at Unit N, Central Trading Estate, Coulton Close, Oldham, OL1 4EB. Bristol to Oldham is a couple of hours up the M5 and M6. Most of my Bristol customers order on the strength of the reviews and the specs rather than making the trip — but if you want to see the carcass quality and hardware in person, you’re always welcome.
