Edinburgh’s housing is among the most distinctive in the UK. The Georgian New Town with its sweeping crescents and grand townhouses is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, while the tenement flats of Marchmont, Bruntsfield, and Leith define much of the city’s residential character. The Victorian villas of Morningside and Colinton contrast with the modern family homes in developments across South Queensferry and Cramond. Edinburgh’s stone-built heritage means kitchens must work within thick walls, deep window reveals, and characterful proportions.
SJB Trade Kitchens supplies rigid kitchen units direct to homeowners and tradespeople across Edinburgh and the Lothians. Scotland is a growing part of our delivery network, and Edinburgh is one of our most popular Scottish destinations. The city’s stock of period tenements and Georgian townhouses — where standard-size cabinets rarely fit — makes our made-to-order rigid units an ideal solution. We supply at prices 30–50% cheaper than Howdens, with 18mm backs and Blum hardware as standard on every unit.
We supply rigid-built kitchen cabinets made to your exact measurements, with over 100 door styles to choose from. Every order comes with a free design service, a detailed quote within 24 hours, and delivery in as little as 10 working days. For more detail on our cabinet construction, see our trade kitchen cabinet manufacturer page. You can also browse our full rigid kitchen units hub page for more information.

Every kitchen we supply is built around rigid-construction carcasses, made from 18mm Egger or Kronospan board with cam and dowel assembly. These are fully assembled cabinets — not flat-pack. They arrive ready to install, which makes the fitter’s job faster and easier, and means there’s no risk of a cabinet being assembled incorrectly on site.
One of the things that sets us apart from the big-box retailers is our 18mm backs — not hardboard. Most budget kitchen suppliers use thin hardboard backs to cut costs. Every cabinet we supply has a solid 18mm back, giving the carcass genuine structural rigidity and a far longer lifespan.
All cabinets come fitted with Blum soft-close hinges and Blum Antaro drawer systems as standard. Blum is the gold standard in kitchen hardware — their hinges and drawers carry a lifetime guarantee. This isn’t an upgrade or an optional extra. It comes as standard on every cabinet we supply. If you want to go further, we also offer dovetail solid oak drawer boxes as a premium upgrade.
Doors are available in over 100 styles — gloss, matt, shaker, handleless, painted and more — all made to your exact measurements. If your kitchen has an awkward alcove, a sloping ceiling, or a non-standard dimension, we can accommodate it. Every cabinet is made to the millimetre, not to the nearest standard size.

Our showroom is in Oldham, Greater Manchester — Unit N, Central Trading Estate, Coulton Close, OL1 4EB — but we supply customers right across the UK, including Edinburgh and the surrounding areas of Leith, Morningside, Stockbridge, Corstorphine, Musselburgh, Livingston, and across the Lothians. Edinburgh is around 4 hours from our Oldham showroom via the M6 and A74(M), and we deliver to central Scotland regularly.
Everything is carefully packaged and delivered directly to your door. The geography doesn’t matter — you get the same personal service, the same quality product, and the same 10-day lead time wherever you are in the country. Steve and the team work with our manufacturer to keep prices 30–50% below what you’d pay at Howdens — with no trade account required.
Are rigid kitchen units suitable for Edinburgh tenement flats?
They are ideal. Edinburgh tenement kitchens often have thick stone walls, deep window reveals, and non-standard room dimensions. Because every rigid unit we supply is made to order, we can build to the exact measurements of your space — accommodating the quirks that make tenement living so characterful.
How long does delivery take to Edinburgh?
We deliver to Edinburgh in as little as 10 working days from order confirmation. The journey from our Oldham base is around 4 hours via the M6 and A74(M), and we deliver to Scotland regularly.
Can I get door samples sent to Edinburgh before ordering?
Yes. We post door samples anywhere in the UK, including Edinburgh. This means you can see and feel the finish, check the colour against your walls and worktops, and make a confident decision without needing to visit our Oldham showroom.
What kitchen styles suit Edinburgh’s Georgian New Town properties?
The grand proportions of New Town kitchens suit shaker painted doors in period-appropriate colours — think muted greys, deep blues, and heritage greens. Tall wall units make the most of the high ceilings, and dovetail solid oak drawer boxes add a premium touch that complements the Georgian architecture.
Do you supply rigid units for property renovations in Leith?
We do. Leith has seen significant regeneration, with many tenement flats and warehouse conversions being renovated to a high standard. Our rigid units, with their 18mm backs and Blum hardware, offer the build quality these projects demand — at prices that make renovation budgets go further.
