Choosing a kitchen is easier when you compare the same room, the same specification and the same scope of work. These independent buying guides explain the questions customers commonly ask before committing to a design or quote.
Use them to compare cabinet routes, product schedules, worktops, appliances, delivery, fitting and guarantee terms. A headline total is useful, but it rarely tells the whole story on its own.
Compare kitchen brands and buying routes
- Howdens vs Wren Kitchens — compare price, quality and buying route.
- Howdens vs Magnet Kitchens — compare a trade-led and showroom-led route.
- Wickes vs Howdens Kitchens — compare a retail and trade purchase route.
- Wickes vs Wren Kitchens — compare the written specification, not only the advertised offer.
- Wickes vs Magnet Kitchens — compare two showroom-led proposals on a like-for-like basis.

How to compare a kitchen quote fairly
Keep the latest plan, itemised schedule and quotation revision. Then check that both proposals cover the same cabinet sizes and quantities, door and storage specification, worktop material and fitting, appliance models, delivery arrangement and site-work exclusions. If one proposal includes installation or preparation and the other is supply only, separate those costs before comparing totals.
Already have a quote, design or floor plan? Upload your quote or plan through SJB’s online kitchen planner and tell us which details you would like to keep or change. We can assess a supply-only proposal around the same practical requirements.
Supplier ranges, services, prices and guarantees can change. Always check the current written documentation for the exact products and work included in your own quote.
