Kent — the Garden of England — has a housing stock as varied as its landscape. The medieval timber-framed houses of Canterbury and the Weald sit alongside the elegant Regency terraces of Tunbridge Wells and the Victorian seaside architecture of Whitstable and Broadstairs. The commuter towns of Sevenoaks and Tonbridge are home to substantial Edwardian and interwar properties, while Ashford and the Medway towns have seen significant modern development. Oast house conversions and period farmhouses add rural character across the county.
SJB Trade Kitchens supplies rigid kitchen units direct to homeowners and tradespeople across Kent. The county’s rich mix of period properties — from medieval timber frames to Victorian terraces — makes it a natural market for our made-to-order rigid units. Standard cabinet sizes rarely suit the characterful dimensions of Kent’s older homes, and our ability to build to the exact millimetre is a genuine advantage. We supply at prices 30–50% cheaper than Howdens, with 18mm backs and Blum hardware as standard.
We supply rigid-built kitchen cabinets made to your exact measurements, with over 100 door styles to choose from. Every order comes with a free design service, a detailed quote within 24 hours, and delivery in as little as 10 working days. For more detail on our cabinet construction, see our trade kitchen cabinet manufacturer page. You can also browse our full rigid kitchen units hub page for more information.

Every kitchen we supply is built around rigid-construction carcasses, made from 18mm Egger or Kronospan board with cam and dowel assembly. These are fully assembled cabinets — not flat-pack. They arrive ready to install, which makes the fitter’s job faster and easier, and means there’s no risk of a cabinet being assembled incorrectly on site.
One of the things that sets us apart from the big-box retailers is our 18mm backs — not hardboard. Most budget kitchen suppliers use thin hardboard backs to cut costs. Every cabinet we supply has a solid 18mm back, giving the carcass genuine structural rigidity and a far longer lifespan.
All cabinets come fitted with Blum soft-close hinges and Blum Antaro drawer systems as standard. Blum is the gold standard in kitchen hardware — their hinges and drawers carry a lifetime guarantee. This isn’t an upgrade or an optional extra. It comes as standard on every cabinet we supply. If you want to go further, we also offer dovetail solid oak drawer boxes as a premium upgrade.
Doors are available in over 100 styles — gloss, matt, shaker, handleless, painted and more — all made to your exact measurements. If your kitchen has an awkward alcove, a sloping ceiling, or a non-standard dimension, we can accommodate it. Every cabinet is made to the millimetre, not to the nearest standard size.

Our showroom is in Oldham, Greater Manchester — Unit N, Central Trading Estate, Coulton Close, OL1 4EB — but we supply customers right across the UK, including Kent and the surrounding areas of Canterbury, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Ashford, Rochester, Whitstable, and across the county. Kent is around 4 hours 30 minutes from our Oldham showroom via the M6 and M20, and we deliver to the South East regularly.
Everything is carefully packaged and delivered directly to your door. The geography doesn’t matter — you get the same personal service, the same quality product, and the same 10-day lead time wherever you are in the country. Steve and the team work with our manufacturer to keep prices 30–50% below what you’d pay at Howdens — with no trade account required.
Are rigid kitchen units suitable for oast house conversions in Kent?
They are perfect. Oast house conversions have curved walls, unusual room shapes, and non-standard dimensions that flat-pack kitchens simply cannot accommodate. Our made-to-order rigid units can be built to the exact measurements of your space, including angled cabinets and custom fillers to work around the unique architecture.
How long does delivery take to Kent?
We deliver to Kent in as little as 10 working days from order confirmation. Kent is around 4 hours 30 minutes from our Oldham base, but we deliver to the South East regularly and our logistics are well established for the route.
What kitchen styles suit the Regency properties in Tunbridge Wells?
The Regency terraces and villas of Tunbridge Wells suit shaker painted kitchens in classic heritage colours — deep blues, soft greys, and warm creams complement the period architecture. The generous proportions of these properties allow for full-height wall units and statement islands with dovetail solid oak drawer boxes.
Do you supply rigid units for new-build developments in Ashford?
Yes. We work with developers across Kent, including the growing Ashford area. Our competitive pricing, consistent quality, and 10 working day lead time make us a practical supplier for residential developments where quality rigid units are specified.
Can I get door samples sent to Kent before ordering?
Absolutely. We post door samples anywhere in the UK, including all areas of Kent. You can check the colour, texture, and finish against your walls and worktops before committing — all without needing to travel to our Oldham showroom.
