Manchester’s housing stock is as diverse as the city itself. From the red-brick Victorian terraces of Levenshulme and Fallowfield to the converted warehouse apartments in Ancoats and the Northern Quarter, from the Edwardian semis of Chorlton and Didsbury to the modern new-build developments springing up across Salford Quays and Middlewood Locks — every property type demands a kitchen that fits precisely.
As a Manchester-based kitchen specialist, SJB Trade Kitchens understands the local market inside out. Steve is from Altrincham and the showroom is in Oldham, so Manchester is quite literally on our doorstep. Whether you are a homeowner renovating a period terrace in Whalley Range, a landlord updating rental properties in Rusholme, or a developer fitting out new apartments in the city centre, we supply rigid kitchen units built to your exact specifications at prices 30–50% cheaper than Howdens.
We supply rigid-built kitchen cabinets made to your exact measurements, with over 100 door styles to choose from. Every order comes with a free design service, a detailed quote within 24 hours, and delivery in as little as 10 working days. For more detail on our cabinet construction, see our trade kitchen cabinet manufacturer page. You can also browse our full rigid kitchen units hub page for more information.

Every kitchen we supply is built around rigid-construction carcasses, made from 18mm Egger or Kronospan board with cam and dowel assembly. These are fully assembled cabinets — not flat-pack. They arrive ready to install, which makes the fitter’s job faster and easier, and means there’s no risk of a cabinet being assembled incorrectly on site.
One of the things that sets us apart from the big-box retailers is our 18mm backs — not hardboard. Most budget kitchen suppliers use thin hardboard backs to cut costs. Every cabinet we supply has a solid 18mm back, giving the carcass genuine structural rigidity and a far longer lifespan.
All cabinets come fitted with Blum soft-close hinges and Blum Antaro drawer systems as standard. Blum is the gold standard in kitchen hardware — their hinges and drawers carry a lifetime guarantee. This isn’t an upgrade or an optional extra. It comes as standard on every cabinet we supply. If you want to go further, we also offer dovetail solid oak drawer boxes as a premium upgrade.
Doors are available in over 100 styles — gloss, matt, shaker, handleless, painted and more — all made to your exact measurements. If your kitchen has an awkward alcove, a sloping ceiling, or a non-standard dimension, we can accommodate it. Every cabinet is made to the millimetre, not to the nearest standard size.

Our showroom is in Oldham, Greater Manchester — Unit N, Central Trading Estate, Coulton Close, OL1 4EB — but we supply customers right across the UK, including Manchester and the surrounding areas of Salford, Trafford, Stockport, Didsbury, Chorlton, Altrincham, and across Greater Manchester. Manchester is just 20 minutes from our Oldham showroom, and we deliver to Greater Manchester regularly.
Everything is carefully packaged and delivered directly to your door. The geography doesn’t matter — you get the same personal service, the same quality product, and the same 10-day lead time wherever you are in the country. Steve and the team work with our manufacturer to keep prices 30–50% below what you’d pay at Howdens — with no trade account required.
Are rigid kitchen units suitable for Victorian terraces in south Manchester?
Absolutely. Many Victorian terraces in areas like Levenshulme, Burnage, and Chorlton have compact galley kitchens or rear extensions with non-standard dimensions. Because every rigid unit we supply is made to order, we can build cabinets to the exact millimetre — perfect for alcoves, chimney breasts, and the awkward corners common in period properties.
Can I visit the SJB showroom from Manchester?
Yes — our showroom at Unit N, Central Trading Estate, Coulton Close, Oldham, OL1 4EB is just a 20-minute drive from Manchester city centre via the M62 or A62. You can see our door samples, discuss your project with Steve, and get hands-on with the cabinet construction before you order.
Do you supply rigid kitchen units for new-build apartments in Manchester?
We do. We work with developers and landlords across Manchester supplying rigid units for new-build projects in areas like Salford Quays, Ancoats, and Middlewood Locks. Our 10 working day lead time and made-to-order sizing make us a practical choice for multi-unit developments where consistency and speed matter.
How do your prices compare to Howdens for a Manchester kitchen?
Our rigid kitchen units are typically 30–50% cheaper than the equivalent Howdens specification — and our cabinets come with 18mm backs and Blum hardware as standard, which Howdens charges extra for. We provide fully transparent pricing with no hidden fees.
What door styles are popular with Manchester customers?
Manchester customers tend to favour handleless matt finishes for modern apartments and conversions, and shaker painted doors for period terraces and Edwardian semis. We offer over 100 door styles, so whatever your property type or taste, we have something to suit.
