I run SJB Trade Kitchens from our showroom in Oldham — I’m a kitchen specialist who works directly with our manufacturer to supply rigid-built, made-to-order kitchens at prices the high street can’t match. Supply only is straightforward — I supply the kitchen, you arrange the fitting. You get cabinets, doors, hinges, drawer boxes, plinths, panels, and worktops if you want them. Everything arrives in one delivery, fully assembled and ready for your fitter to install. What you don’t pay for is an installation service you don’t need.

Every unit is rigid-built by our manufacturer — not flat-pack. The carcasses arrive fully assembled, square, and solid. Your fitter doesn’t waste half a day putting boxes together. They turn up, and the kitchen goes straight in.

York’s housing is as varied as the city itself. The Georgian townhouses around Bootham and The Mount have tall, narrow kitchens where standard-size units rarely fit without compromise. The Victorian terraces in Bishopthorpe Road, South Bank, and Holgate often have galley kitchens with alcoves and pipework that need working around. Because everything I supply is made to your exact measurements, you get a kitchen that actually fits your space — not one that nearly fits with filler panels hiding the gaps.

The newer estates around Huntington, Haxby, and Strensall tend to have more conventional kitchen layouts, but that doesn’t mean you should settle for flat-pack from Howdens. I supply 18mm Egger or Kronospan MFC carcasses with 18mm solid backs and Blum soft-close hardware as standard — the same specification that premium brands charge two or three times more for. The saving on a typical York kitchen is 30–50% compared to Howdens, and you’re getting a better product.

18mm Egger or Kronospan MFC carcasses. Full 18mm board throughout, including 18mm solid backs. This is the same board specification used by premium kitchen brands charging two or three times what I charge. It’s what makes the units genuinely rigid — they don’t flex, they don’t bow, and they don’t fall apart after a few years of daily use.

Blum soft-close hinges and Blum Antaro drawer boxes. Fitted as standard on every unit. Blum is the industry benchmark — smooth, quiet, and built to last. They carry a lifetime guarantee from Blum themselves.

Made to order — any size. Standard dimensions are available, but if your space needs something different, I’ll order it made to those exact measurements. Custom sizes are included in the price — no surcharge for bespoke.

Over 300 MFC carcass finishes. White, grey, cream, woodgrain, concrete-effect — whatever suits your project. The carcass colour is included in the price.

Delivery in as little as 10 working days. Once your order is confirmed, your kitchen goes into production. Everything arrives in one delivery — cabinets, doors, handles, plinths, panels, the lot.

York to Oldham is about an hour and a half via the M62 — a straightforward run, and a good number of my Yorkshire customers come over to see the showroom before they order. It’s at Unit N, Central Trading Estate, Coulton Close, Oldham, OL1 4EB — free parking, no appointment needed.
